Ugo Untoro
Biografi
Ugo Untoro was born on June 28, 1970 in Purbalingga, Central Java. During 1988-1996, Ugo received art education at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta. At first he worked with paintings, but then Ugo also made works of art in the form of three-dimensional objects, installations and video-art.
Ugo's works have been exhibited in several joint exhibitions since 1988. During 1988-1994, Ugo's works were exhibited at Young Painter Artist of Yogyakarta Exhibition in Yogyakarta; The Jakarta International Fine Art Exhibition in Jakarta; Yogyakarta Arts Festival (FKY) in Yogyakarta; Sono Art Solidarity in Yogyakarta; and ISI Gallery at ISI, Yogyakarta.
Ugo's first solo exhibition was held in 1995, with the title Corat-Coret at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta. In 1998, Ugo's work was exhibited overseas for the first time at The International of Exhibition of Philip Morris Competition at the Hanoi Opera House, Vietnam. Ugo's works were then exhibited in various countries, such as America, China, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Italy, South Korea, Australia, Germany, Lichtenstein and Japan.
