Politics, social messages, and religion are the subject of Manullang's pop art works which he expresses with humor and satire. Some of his controversial works represent Adolf Hitler as a semi-naked pregnant woman or as the Virgin Mary cradling the baby Jesus on his lap, questioning the uncomfortable acceptance for the of modern history.
