kohesi Initiatives is pleased to present the works of Agugn, Arin Dwihartanto Sunaryo, Dede Cipon, Lemuel E. Saputra, Ruth Marbun, Timoteus Anggawan Kusno, and Wimo Ambala Bayang at Art Jakarta 2025. Bringing together diverse artistic approaches, the presentation unfolds as a meditation on memory, materiality, and the paradoxes of contemporary existence.
At the heart of several works lies an inquiry into the unstable nature of images and truth. While photographs appear to capture specific moments, often evoking stories of colonial violence and historical rupture, they do not, in themselves, disclose certainty. Their meanings emerge both within and beyond the four edges of the frame, shaped by the contexts, absences, and layered narratives carried by the archive. Muted palettes evoke the passage of time, fading memory, and traces that remain only faintly visible on the surface.
Together, the works in this presentation offer a space where history, memory, and spiritual yearning intersect—where the seen and the unseen, the fragile and the resilient, the personal and the collective remain in constant negotiation.
